I bought the Mac version of Fujitsu ScanSnap(510M) about 2 years ago, and I cannot sing enough praises for this gadget.
Despite being pricy, it is fast, and nearly error proof in its automatic ways. You can feed a driver’s license mixed with a photo, and a multi-page document, and it will properly scan all. It helped me get rid of thousands of old bills, and documents by quickly scanning.
Despite not being a professional photo scanner with its limited resolution, I have even used it for that purpose, scanning thousands of old family pictures in a matter of hours with very respectable results. It would have take weeks with my Epson flat-bed scanner, despite its better quality. But then again, most old pictures don’t have that much quality anyway.
