{"id":697,"date":"2013-11-02T07:22:16","date_gmt":"2013-11-02T12:22:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ethnosync.com\/?p=697"},"modified":"2014-04-23T10:24:48","modified_gmt":"2014-04-23T15:24:48","slug":"697","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ethnosync.com\/?p=697","title":{"rendered":"Network Users Cannot Login &#8211; Server 3.0 &#8211; Take 4"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>To summarize our collective misery so far:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ML server + ML &amp; Mavericks clients &#8211; OK<\/li>\n<li>Mavericks\u00a0server + ML clients &#8211; OK<\/li>\n<li>Mavericks\u00a0server + Mavericks\u00a0clients &#8211; Broken<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the SMB transport thing, I tried:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Force smb1 on a client by following\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/library\/mac\/documentation\/Darwin\/Reference\/ManPages\/man5\/nsmb.conf.5.html\">this<\/a>. In essence creating a file named nsmb.conf in \/etc directory containing:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>[default]<\/p>\n<p>smb_neg=smb1_only<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>-&gt; no luck. [I did this on the Mavericks\u00a0<strong>client<\/strong>. Did not try on the Mavericks\u00a0<strong>server<\/strong>.]<\/p>\n<p>Seperately, I turned off the wireless interface on the server, retaining the gigabit wired connection. The account server went red instead of green on the Mavericks\u00a0client. So I deleted and readded the network account server on the Mavericks\u00a0client.
