I had ordered the 128 GB Solid State Drive (SSD) with the laptop, and I have not yet played with it much, but it boots in just a few seconds. The read performance never makes it above 200. Most solid state drives are pushing 250 these days. Write performance is stuck at 170. Regardless, in respect to the standard mechanical drive, the performance is great.<\/p>\n<p>The mechanical hard drive (non-SSD) has the following performance:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/ethnosync.com\/files\/i5-harddisk.png\" hspace=\"0\" vspace=\"10\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Basically, the disk is 6 times faster (301.64 vs. 52.09). I will update again in the next week or so.
