Mid-2010 MBP 17″ (i5) with 128 GB Apple SSD

My new 17″ Mac Book Pro showed up this morning. I had ordered the 128 GB Solid State Drive (SSD) with the laptop, and I have not yet played with it much, but it boots in just a few seconds. Check out the boot video below:

The Atto Bench scores are as follows:

These are good but not great results in respect to drives from Intel and others. The read performance never makes it above 200. Most solid state drives are pushing 250 these days. Write performance is stuck at 170. Regardless, in respect to the standard mechanical drive, the performance is great.

The mechanical hard drive (non-SSD) has the following performance:

Basically, the disk is 6 times faster (301.64 vs. 52.09). This is the Mid-2010 Model A1297, BTW.

I added below the updated xbench scores after 5 days of use, and at 80% full. I will update again in the next week or so. Looks like there is a bit of slow down, but we will see what happens in the coming weeks.
